SongNotes from the Birds is a collection of songs and articles, issued each month by Nathan and Naomi Bird via blog posts, emails, and good old-fashioned mailboxes.
October 2019 Theme!
This month, in our region of the world (Minnesota, USA), we are turning the corner into the lower temps of autumn. For the Bird home this means three things:
- Long drives to look at leaves,
2. Lots of cups of tea to warm us up
3. and so many pieces of paper capturing our thoughts and artwork and homework.
With affection for these things, this month of songs follows the theme: Loose Leaves. In a trifecta of classic jazz ballads and accompanying writings, Nathan and I present homages to these three favorite features of the fall.
Songs for Loose Leaves
October’s songs of the month: “Autumn Leaves,” “I Could Write a Book,” and “Tea for Two.”
Nathan sings. Naomi accompanies on piano and a little bit of accordion. With the recent changes in how we’re running things around here, we are excited about sharing all of the songs and writings publicly again, so please check back here or subscribe to the emails to listen to and read about each week’s featured song.
In the Mail
The CDs and magazines will be on their way soon to folks who prefer to enjoy this with less technology involved. Anyone come to mind? Click here to make a submission to the wish list.
